Spring is in the air with summertime just around the corner, and Cottage Gardens of Petaluma is here to get you ready.  They are holding two free gardening events to help liven up your yard for all those BBQs you’ll be hosting, and to also make it more enticing to spend some time in the great outdoors.

On Sunday June 12th at 11am, Master Gardener Kara Stephens-Flemming will be hosting a class about native grasses, giving information on several varieties and also offering tips on how to plant them so they enhance your yard.

On Wednesday June 15th at 11am, Nursery Manager and former Montessori School Teacher, Fionuala Campion, will be giving a garden demo especially for kids aged 6-12.  She’ll teach the kids about the best types of plants to grow in the summertime, and also about raised beds and container growing.  All kids will leave with a pumpkin starter to grow and enter in a pumpkin weigh-off contest in the fall.

Both events are free, and will be held at Cottage Gardens of Petaluma.  Each event will be followed by a Q&A session.  Reservations are required by calling (707) 778-8025.
